The vehicle & driver would be at the ship as you disembark to pick you up and bring you into the city of Fllorence (to meet up with the guide) and would then be at your disposal for the full day of sightseeing in Florence and Pisa to help you during your day. At the end of your day the driver would then drive you back directly to your ship.
Enjoy a 1 hour and 30 minutes drive through the Tuscan countryside before arriving in Florence, the capital of Renaissance art. The first stop will be at the panoramic terrace of Piazzale Michelangelo to admire the most breathtaking views of the whole city of Florence before embarking on a private walking guided tour of the city with our local certified English speaking guide.
Our walking tour of Florence begins from the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore to see its crowning glory Brunelleschi's dome, Giotto's bell tower and the Baptistery of San Giovanni. We will continue toward Piazza della Repubblica, geographical centre of the city and ancient Roman Forum. From here, strolling through the narrow and winding streets of the medieval section of the city where our greatest poet Dante Alighieri was born, we will reach Piazza della Signoria. This is Florence's main square, it is dominated by the imposing Palazzo Vecchio and it is an open-air sculpture museum with its Loggia dei Lanzi. We will then pass by the impressive Galleria degli Uffizi on our way to Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge crossing the Arno River, where the view of the river is just magnificent and where you will have some free time for strolling and lunch. Your driver would then bring you to discover Pisa's most important monuments and squares: the world famous Campo dei Miracoli (Field of Miracles) with its unrivalled quartet of medieval masterpieces: Leaning Tower, Baptistery, Cathedral and the Campo Santo cemetery.
